A little about us. A little about why.
I'm Sabrina, a 38 year old mum of four, lover of all things natural, and the woman behind most of what happens here at Rendered.
Well, mostly.
Rendered is mainly run by me, but let's be honest, we're a husband and wife operation. My husband is my biggest supporter, sounding board and occasional unwilling participant. He also generously shares his garage with my growing collection of ingredients, equipment, packaging and boxes. I'm not sure he knew quite what he was signing up for, but here we are!
So, what does Rendered mean to me?
Rendered is about coming back to the things that matter. It's about reconnecting with nature, reclaiming traditional wisdom and questioning the idea that we always need something new, complicated or synthetic to care for ourselves.
I'm drawn to the ingredients our ancestors understood and relied on long before skincare became a crowded industry. Tallow is a beautiful example of this. An ingredient with a long history of use, made from something that might otherwise be overlooked, and transformed into something nourishing and purposeful.
I believe what we put on our skin deserves just as much thought as what we put on our plates. That's why I love working with tallow, botanical oils, natural butters and thoughtfully selected ingredients to create skincare that feels simple, purposeful and considered.
But Rendered is about more than what goes into a jar or bottle.
It's about positive ageing, caring for ourselves through every stage of life and embracing the skin we're in. It's about looking after our mothers and fathers, our daughters and sons, and creating a healthier relationship with the way we care for ourselves.
I want to celebrate the laugh lines, the lived in years, the changing seasons and all the little things that make us who we are.
Because looking after our skin is lovely, but feeling good from the inside out is something much bigger.
Life outside the rendering.
When I'm not making, testing, weighing, labelling or dreaming up the next Rendered creation, you'll probably find us outside getting our hands dirty.
We're slowly transforming our little quarter acre section into an urban homestead. Think gardens, growing food, projects, renovations, learning as we go and probably a few things that take considerably longer than planned!
Between four children, family life, work, endless projects and the general chaos of a busy household, life is full. Sometimes messy, often hilarious and always moving.
We're big believers in making things, growing things, learning new skills, getting outdoors and finding joy in the simple everyday moments.
I suppose that's really what sits at the heart of Rendered, too.
A desire to live a little more intentionally, understand where things come from, use what nature provides and create something meaningful along the way.
